October 2024 Monthly Meeting

Following the summer break which of course included our 2024 Annual Show we are now looking forward to the return of our monthly meetings in the Methodist Church Hall. Starting the new series of Wednesday meetings ( in all but December they’re on the third Wednesday of the month ) will be a presentation by Sarah Owen-Hughes entitled ” Secrets of the Soil”. The talk will cover  the component parts of soil and how to boost your own soil to get better gardens (with less work!).

If members would like a sample of their garden soil to be tested please bring no more than a margarine tub with soil in (& no margarine!!), taken from about a spade’s depth down (20-30cm), so we can get to the real soil without any of the organic matter that members will have been adding to their gardens over the years.

All are welcome at our meetings and events so why not come along to the Methodist Church Hall and see if it’s for you ?  The doors will be open from shortly after 7.00.p.m. with the meeting due to begin at 7.30.p.m.  We hope you can join us, and we look forward to seeing you then.

Please remember that the Church Hall does have a lift to take passengers from the car park to the Hall level.  So if you have mobility problems please don’t be put off. Just let a Committee member know that you will be coming and we will be pleased to have the lift ready and available for you to use.
