If you’ve enjoyed looking at our website why not join our club ? Joining is easy and open to anyone – you don’t have to be a Cookridge resident, membership is open to anyone interested in gardening.

The cost is only £12 a year plus £1 at each meeting. Non members are very welcome with an entry charge of just £3 per meeting. That’s less than you’d pay for fish and chips for two, lasts much longer and includes the following great benefits:-

  • Members are given some Spring flowering bulbs in the Autumn to be potted up and shown at our Spring show. Take a look at the Gallery page for some examples.

  • During Spring Members are given a recently potted on plug ( this year it will be a Chrysanthemum ) with the hope that the resulting plant could be shown at our Annual show. This year we are optimistic the show will return to its normal venue at the Cookridge Methodist Church Hall.

  • We have monthly meetings where guest speakers give presentations on a wide variety of topics. Mainly gardening related but not exclusively so. The lockdowns we have all been through have not prevented our monthly meetings from going ahead in the form of Zoom presentations. They have been a real success for us and proven very enjoyable, entertaining and educational.

  • We produce a monthly Newsletter and Top Ten Tips for Members. These are e-mailed where possible and are also replicated on this website. Take a look at the News page for the latest editions.

  • We arrange visits to local gardens during the summer months and ( restrictions allowing ) a coach trip further afield if possible. The Calendar of Events page will give you an idea of our plans for the coming months.

As already mentioned the cost is only £12 per year and you will receive the monthly newsletter detailing events and giving useful gardening hints for the month.
We also hold plant sales and seed swaps. RHS magazines and books are available to members at our meetings as well as advice on all aspects of gardening.
