Summer Outings 2024

This year we have a number of outings planned for those lovely sunny summer days and evenings. Could we ask members to let us know which of the following events you would like to attend by ringing 0113 2676185 (answer machine), emailing on cookridgegardenclub@icloud.com or by contacting one of our committee members at our meetings.

5^th June 2024. Open Gardens

starting 7pm

Joan Webster, Holmwood Close Meanwood

Then onto Joan and David Waite, Holly Avenue Tinshill

with tea and cakes next door with Maxine Asso, Holly Avenue Tinshill

£1 donation to club funds

19^th June Delphinium Cottage Garden Methley

To arrive at 2pm

This promises to be a real treat as delphinium lover Mr Parton shows us around his national collection of delphiniums. Mr Parton asks for donations to go to the church and the garden on a 50/50 split. This trip will be by car so will be looking for car sharing to cut down on the number of vehicles needed. Please contact Joan or Ruth if you have spare seats.

26^th June 2024 Parkside Road Allotment Meanwood

Starting at 7-7.15 pm

Getting help with your show produce with hints and tips from the plot holders of this award winning allotment. Donations will be collected on the evening.

14^th July 2024 Club Visit by Coach departing 8.15am

BURNBY HALL GARDENS POCKLINGTON

and later at

NGS Open Garden at White Wynn Ellerton

Both of these gardens are quite stunning, Burnby Hall holds the National Lilly collection and White Wynn is a member of the NGS scheme.

The cost will be approx £30 depending on how many members join us. There is a café at Burnby Hall which can proved lunch or you can bring your own to enjoy. It promises to be a wonderful day out.
